Accommodation

When I worked as holiday guide here one of our guests came running up to me in the village, her face full of excitement.

‘My travel agent told me that there was no such thing as a perfect log cabin in a forest near a ski resort and that I would be disappointed,’ she said.  ’But our cabin is amazing, I can’t imagine a more perfect place.’

Whether you want a log cabin or would prefer the convenience of a hotel, you’ll be able to find something to suit.

Bars, Restaurants And Cafes

Bars and restaurants are often open until the small hours of the morning, with the closing time for most bars being 4am during peak season and at weekends.

Alcohol is fairly expensive in Finland due to the tax imposed on it.  A pint will cost about €5 and a glass of wine around €7.

There are a number of bars, cafes and restaurants around Ruka to suit different tastes and budgets, from lively karaoke bars to ballroom dancing and from local speciality restaurants to fast food chains.
